Doing one, unassisted pull-up has been my new year's resolution since 2018, but I've only really started training for it in the past two years. Leveling up to a smaller band feels good! Hoping 2025 will be the year.
Also, I really appreciate how honest you are about your pull-ups!
I definitely need to work on this and upper body strength in general! I went to the gym for weight training this morning and it was very sad to see how little weight my shoulders can lift! My legs are very strong though, so that's something!
I'm glad you made it to the gym and that you're feeling good about your lower body strength! Try not to be too hard on yourself about what you see as a lack of strength though :-) These things ebb and flow, and you should feel great about taking meaningful action to work on it! It's not weakness, it's room to grow. Not to get too preachy! I just think it's important to be kind to ourselves in this process ;-)

It is so hard to make yourself actually do this work, isn't it?? Let's make it happen this time!

Words of wisdom! Thanks :) I definitely need to remind myself of that!
I accidentally trained for pull ups when I was climbing lots. Sadly that's fallen by the wayside a bit, so it's time to get back on the wagon!
Totally! My climbing friends have grip strength and pull-ups out the wazoo.
