I don’t do much ranting here on How to Move (which is funny because it’s something I do a lot of… like, a lot of…in my regular life!), but I’ve got one for you today. I actually saw this Instagram post a couple of weeks ago and made myself step away from the phone immediately because I didn’t want to get too reactive! But I’m still highly annoyed, so I’m finally allowing myself to rant.

However, I’m wary of ranting outside my scope of practice. While I’m pretty confident in my pelvic floor knowledge, I am not a pelvic health therapist, so I enlisted the help of a Substack pal, the wonderful Cait Van Damm, OTD, OT/L, who is a pelvic floor therapist and chronic pain coach based in Boston. Her newsletter is called Adventures in Vaginas (and Other Parts) and it’s so helpful, entertaining, and realistic, which is why I knew she’d be a great partner in ranting today.

(As a side note, did you know OTs can be pelvic floor therapists? A lot of people do not, so I'm saying it clearly here — if you’re looking for a pelvic health provider and coming up short on PTs in your area, expand your search to qualified OTs as well.)

OK, so for the rant. Here is the fitness trend Cait and I think needs to die — and everything you should know and do instead. Plus, smart answers to several great reader questions on pelvic health!
