This was so informative! How do you convince people that so much of the information out there is not true? Especially when people might even be hearing some of this misinformation from their physicians. It feels like swimming upstream.

That’s such a tough one! I think my main approach is to just keep putting accurate information out there in as accessible and comforting a way as possible. (And without making people feel judged or stupid if they’ve believed something that isn’t true in the past — that’s definitely not a helpful way to convince anyone to change their mind.) But overcoming the barrage of misinformation is an uphill battle for sure.

Thank you Marie! Isn’t she great? Hoping to get part 2 ready in the coming few weeks!

It was me! You and Maria are kind of a dream team for me.

Jessica!!!! Thank you sooo much, meeting Maria through you has been so amazing! Really glad you found her and so so grateful for the connection. Yay!!

As a weight neutral PCP, there is just a dearth of resources for patients out there - so I love being able to point to you and Maria (and a sturdy handful of others) as I am trying to gently lead my patients away from diet culture. So grateful for you both!

Ummmm a weight neutral PCP?? Love this so much. Let’s please stay in touch!

I’m here for it! I’ve been a primary care NP for two years after working as a nurse in the ER for 15. Weight neutral/HAES based medical care is a huge piece of justice (and addressing injustice) in medicine and access and only the tiniest fraction of us practice this way.

Pop Tarts, ha! Thank you to both of you, this was a really good conversation that I will come back to. I'm looking forward to part 2!
