Happy long weekend!
As you may remember, we’re taking a longer strength cycle right now, and the workout you received in early June can continue to be repeated throughout July, if you like.
But if you’re eager for a little something to mix things up, I’d love to recommend revisiting this fun strength workout from January: It combines a single-leg (or kickstand) deadlift with a single-arm row and a pallof press for an awesome full-body unilateral training sequence. As always, if you don’t have time for the whole thing, you can always skip the warmup, skip the cooldown, or just do one or two rounds of the strength circuit instead of all three.
Before I let you go, I also wanted to share that I’m planning a new interview series: It’s all about people’s personal journeys toward finding movement that supports their wellbeing, and how they make it work in their real, complicated lives. I created a Google Form to collect potential interview subjects: If you’re interested, please take a peek and fill it out (and share it with anyone else whose story you think might be a good fit). I’m looking not for professional athletes and people who are perfectly checking every single exercise box, but regular folks from all walks of life with real-life experiences to share :-)
And one more thing: I have been dipping a toe into corporate speaking gigs! I LOVE DOING THIS. I have a really great talk about strength training — why it’s great, how to get started, how to keep going, why to consider approaching it in a body-neutral way — and feedback has been wonderful so far. If you’d like your company to bring me in as a speaker, please reach out!
Stay cool out there, and see you for a fresh workout next Sunday!
