Take this to the park! (Or gym…or your living room)

I have a fun one for you this week: a full-body workout (including core and cardio!) using just a bench — could be a weight bench in the gym, a park bench, or a (very) sturdy chair or ottoman pushed against the wall at home. Using an elevated surface is a great way to make some exercises a little harder, and some exercises a little easier, depending on the direction you’re working in.

If you want to do this workout but don’t have a bench available, no problem: All of these exercises have great floor-based modifications, which I’ll write up along with the exercise descriptions below.

As always, remember that if you’re in the mood to push yourself and really go for it, I love that for you — but if you don’t have the time or energy to do the whole thing, you can skip the warmup or cooldown, or only do one or two rounds of the circuit instead of all three.
