i am a daily kung fu’er so i wash my yi fu (fit) in a table top washing machine every evening
and i hand wring it. along with my corner towels. and hang dry over night
its a great work out!! ima do your squeeze too now to dry towels as well !!
and strengthening wrists and grip is perfect for wing chun kung fu. bc we are - as you may know - a trapping art; we always grab our opponents limbs.
often by the wrist. like our blocks are often more like grabs “pak sao” (sideways palm)
(probably a good idea for my parkour too!)
AND yet i have never done much wrist stretching 😅😅
so this is helpful practically. and also just to wake me up! i mean i do lots of ankle stretches and light work… but not wrists lol
also im the baby around here so i’m helping my aunties strengthen their wrists & ankles. in hopes that strengthening these key points can help them prevent injuries. and do their own grocery shopping into old age
Oooh yes wringing out a towel/laundry is truly golden! (When I’ve had flareups of bad wrist pain, wringing out a wet washcloth has felt impossible. Amazing how challenging it really is!)
tysm !! these stretches are so helpful to me
